dc.description	The present study looks at the problems involved in preparing a programme of martial arts training for blind and partially sighted people and represents part of a project carried out by the Partnership for Improving Access to the Labour Market for the Blind, whose activities are carried out within the framework of Theme A: “Facilitating access and return to the labour market for those who have difficulty in being integrated or reintegrated into a labour market which must be open to all”. Theme A is part of the EQUAL Community Initiative Programme for Poland 2004-2006, an operational programme co-financed by the European Social Fund. The project is administered by the Foundation Institute for Regional Development in Krakow. The martial arts programme was devised by Andrzej Szuszkiewicz, and the brain child behind the idea was his assistant, Bartłomiej Maleta. The aim of the martial arts programme devised under the Partnership project is to make visually impaired people more active, feel more secure outside the home, encourage them to overcome their own weaknesses, promote perseverance and tenacity as well as a sense of order and discipline, learn how to overcome stress and, as a consequence, achieve self-improvement. These goals, which are undoubtedly the effects of martial arts training geared towards self-defence, have helped significantly increase the independence of project participants and made them more attractive on the employment market..	pl_PL.UTF-8
